In fall 2014, I came across an amazing organization called 180 Degrees Consulting.
180 Degrees Consulting is the world’s largest social impact consultancy that offers affordable consulting services to socially conscious organizations. They create branches at universities, where college students can get real life experience in consulting.
I was immediately intrigued by this organization. I mean, what a clever idea. It’s a win-win for both aspiring consultants like me and for social organizations: we get real life experience and the said organizations get the strategies that they need to keep their businesses successful.
Swarthmore is also known for its strong values of social responsibility, so I had a strong feeling that it would do well here. So I reached out to the 180 Degrees executive directors and started a branch at Swarthmore. It took a while to get it worked out, but in January 2015 my application to start a 180 Degrees Consulting branch at Swarthmore was finally approved!
Most of last semester was focused on getting the C-Level Approval presentation ready and recruiting people for the executive board. I am happy to say that it all went well, and we were prepared to start recruiting for consultants.
This fall, it’s officially starting. We held our first interest meeting and it was a great success; the turnout was great! I am so proud of my team. We’re currently recruiting consultants, and we will start training them with the applicants we accept. We already have a client and I am so excited to get started!

I got the gingham shirt last semester and the skirt last year, but I’ve linked similar items! You can never go wrong with Brooks Brothers, especially their non-iron shirts. They’re a must have.

I am so excited to see how this semester goes with our 180 DC branch. The executive board and I are currently reviewing applications, and they are all so talented!
That’s one of the main things I love about consulting: you get to work on amazing projects with even more amazing people. 🙂
